If you have no flashing left, you will need to re-flash. A CQ requires at least an inch of flashing left at the base around the vent to work. But once you reflash install a CQ and you will never have to worry about that again.

We are working on a video to go on the order page to explain how to measure a vent, how to get pitch, and what size to order. This seems to be an issue as the lead flashing is always larger than the actual vent. Dont expect Hollywood quality.

No, CQs are designed to slide over existing flashing, no matter if damaged or not. They are held in place with 4 screws so removal is easy if the vent needs to be rodded out, although with a CQ on its unlikely this will be reqired.
