We get calls in from people wanting to know why rubber flashing is not used in high sun high rain areas. The attached picture shows what happens to rubber flashing over about 15 years, the life of a roof. This comes from Houston. As you can see, its totally gone and water is dumping into the attic of this home like a water fall. This is why lead is used instead of rubber.
