I enjoy the squirrels but they have been eating the tops of the lead boots on my roof vent pipes. This causes leaks which leads not only to wood rot but also potentially termites. I replaced three of this size (2 1/4″) and one of the larger size. I don’t like being on the roof but it was so easy I literally replaced all 4 in under 30 minutes and this was with moving the big ladder around. If you can’t do it yourself, this is a super easy job for any handyman.
