At least here in Florida. Chewed vents will become major leaks. The attached picture shows what a chewed vent looks like from the top. As you can see, that’s a big gap between the lead and the outside of the pipe, and a lot of water can come into your roof decking or ceiling. I had one that caused a nasty stain, which is where I got introduced to lead flashing. Don’t let that happen, Critter Quitters fix the vent, keep animals out, and don’t cost much.
