Rubber Flashing

If you see vents that are white or black, that probably means you have rubber flashing, not lead. This is common outside of the sunshine states. However, they will dry out and crack over time in just about any environment, so be careful when on your roof to not kick or hold onto one as it may damage this flashing and cause a really bad leak.
