A lot of people dont sweep or blow their roofs off. After all, the pine straw will eventually simply flow off with rain or blow off with wind. But truthfully you need to have it removed if its built up to any degree. The reason is that roofs are not watertight, or waterproof. They are simply water resistant. They will shed rain water as long as it doesnt stand. But if it stands, it will work its way through the shingle and tar paper and into your plywood substrate. Thats going to cause serious rot over time, and will require the wood to be changed out. So get your roof swept or blown. Modern blowers make this an easy process as long as it can be done safely, and if you need to bring in a pro do so, its worth it in the end.
