Check out this damaged vent. Its chewed badly, in fact it may need to be replaced prior to a Critter Quitter being installed. You will notice the damage at the base of the vent, not just the top. Critter Quitters require lead intact at the bottom to complete the seal. Nevertheless, this shows what squirrels can do to lead flashing.
